Mysterious Respiratory Illness

There have been a lot of concerns about the mysterious respiratory dog illness.

Who is at risk?

  • Brachycephalic breeds

  • senior pets with lung issues

  • Newborns during the pandemic

Symptoms:

  • coughing

  • sneezing

  • red, runny eyes

Here at the WPGA, we take sanitation very seriously. We pride ourselves in keeping a clean environment to ensure your pets are always healthy and safe. Hearing news about illnesses can be scary when it involves our loved ones. We have updated our routine so pets are here for minimal time. Each stylist works on one pet at a time. We let pet parents know when we are close to finishing so they can plan to pick up their pets at the same time they are ready. This helps minimize any potential exposure. Our regular cleaning routine is followed before, during, and after each pet.

We have consulted with a veterinarian to ensure our cleaning protocols are up to par. They have informed us that they have seen these cases as early as this summer, and sanitation is vital. They have seen several cases since this summer.

If you have any questions before your pet's appointment, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
